The World of Dreams
Season 1 opens the world of dreams by exploring their impact on our lives, their origins, how we can work with them for self-discovery, and the lessons extraordinary dreams can teach us. How did dreams shape religions? What has neuroscience to teach us about dreams? What is the language of dreams? This season consists of eight lectures that set us off on our exploration.

Dream Psychology
In Season 2, we examine different schools of Psychology to understand how professional therapists interpret and work with dreams today, focusing on the work of Carl Gustav Jung. We consider why Sigmund Freud introduced dreams into clinical practice, how analytical psychology defines archetypal dreams, how dreams interact with personal life scripts to support adaptation and success, and what dreams can teach us about life's meaning.
Dream Topology
As we move forward from psychological theories, Season 3 explores the classification of dreams. Knowing the type of dream reveals what our unconscious is concerned about. In Season 3, we examine the topics dreams present, from Ego attitudes to dream images reminiscent of Nirvana. How do dreams challenge the way we deal with the world? What do shadow-dreams tell us of our repressed desires? What is love about, and how do we relate to other people, especially to the counter-gender? And finally, how do dreams put our life together, offering a holistic view?

The Story of Dreaming is an independent initiative designed to enrich the understanding of culturally curious individuals worldwide.
Dreams have shaped societies since the beginning of history. They inspired myth, underlie religion, and fuel movements and wars. To understand how humans shape the world, one must understand dreams.
Neuroscience indicates that dreams originate in the brain's default mode network (DMN), which governs creativity and decision-making. Understanding this dream network is essential as we collectively step into the future. Recognizing how the DMN—whether conscious or unconscious—impacts our lives is crucial for mastering the challenges of the 3rd millennium: climate change, artificial intelligence, colonialism, nuclear apocalypse, and more. Mastering dreams is integral to mastering the future.

The Author
Rudolf was born in Munich, Germany, graduated with distinction in physics at the Ludwig-Maximilians Universität, and completed his doctorate on star formation at the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics.
He followed the call to become a senior management consultant in London, where he advised the financial services industry for nearly ten years.
His passion for the Tango tempted him to Buenos Aires where he studied psychology and sociology at the Universidad de Palermo. Rudolf is chiefly drawn to evolutionary and depth psychology (the school of Carl Gustav Jung).
His travels have taken him to the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, but he feels most at home in Latin America. The globetrotter speaks three languages fluently, convinced that the language of the heart is the most important one. He has written several travel guides suitable for Expats, globetrotters, and students.
Rudolf suffered a life-threatening stroke in 2023 (right hemisphere Thalamus). He survived, but since then, his left side is paralysed. He now travels the world in a wheelchair. His speech is somewhat impaired, but his laughter is still heartwarming: "If there is nothing you can do about, go to the Pub, have a pint and a good laugh."
